I was fortunate enough to run into Ben in Milwaukee during Verge Fest in Milwaukee about an hour and a half before their set. He and I talked about how boring the midwest is, AFI, SG, and other random things. He was the nicest guy and actually wanted to talk. I had loved SG for a while before meeting him, but after meeting Ben and seeing how real and genuine he really is, it makes me love SG even more (if that is possible). If you ever see him or any of the other members I would say don't be afraid to say hi and that you're a fan. They truly care about their fans and will take the time to talk to you if they have some time. I almost didn't stop to talk to him because I figured I would be bugging him, I'm so glad that I had to the guts to go up and talk to him. Attachments:

If you ever see him or any of the other members I would say don't be afraid to say hi and that you're a fan. After I saw their set we were in the parking lot and my friend asked me if I wanted to go say hi. I said no b/c I didn't want to bug them and whatnot and our parents were also bugging us to get home. My friend isn't the kind of person that prods and prods so she was like "Okay let's just go." Then I changed my mind and we ran inside and I was still nervous (I'm shy.) but she stopped Ben and asked for a picture. Haha. I'm really glad I got to talk to him. I didn't get to say hi to anyone else b/c we really had to get home. |

i got to meet them all after the Indy show and they were all very nice but Ben was especially sweet. he was more than willing to hang out and talk and sign stuff and take pictures, even waiting patiently while my friend and i opened our CDs. he gave out lots of hugs, too.
maybe i've just been lucky but all the musicians i've met have been awesome (with the possible exception of Brian Molko, but he's rather notorious for being a bitch xD )
