there's a stigma still around how long you've been listening to bands and your length of involvement in fandoms, but that's pretentious and silly. it's exciting to find new things, so let's talk about bands you just got into and don't know how you lived without.
i just started listening to my bloody valentine a few days ago when their new album dropped. it's fantastic. really solid shoegaze that takes me way back to when i first started drinking coffee and had purple hair.
i also finally gave chelsea wolfe a listen about a month ago after a lot of people with fantastic taste couldn't shut up about her, and i can see why. she's breathtaking. probably the most beautiful voice i've ever heard. gorgeous, dank doom-folk with a rough blues edge. she's probably the only person on the planet who could romanticize a car crash with sophistication. it doesn't hurt that she's really pretty.

What I have discovered recently hasn't been something I didn't think I could live without... You probably shouldn't check out bands based on the lead singer's appearance, but I did with TOY and I really like them.
Gavin, I've been seeing you and Sierra post about Chelsea Wolfe a lot. I think I'm gonna check her out. 'dank doom-folk' sounds perfect.

I recently found out about We As Human...Not normally the typical type that I listen to. But I actually know the guys from the band and was given the privilege to hear their music before it was mastered for their first album that just dropped on June 25. I was surprised at how I immediately connected with their music personally. I just hope to spread out some love for those boys.
