my girlfriend is on a serious gardening kick. in our little apartment, we currently have:
a peace lily an african violet an orchid an herb garden a bucket of lemon thyme a bamboo plant some fern thing
i both hate it and love it. right now i'm having a little trouble with all of them because we seem to have fungus gnats in the herbs, and they've spread. i've tried cinnamon, and if that doesn't work, i hear chammomile will kill the larvae. i'm not terribly interested in neem oil or any pesticides for obvious reasons, so here's hoping.
any of you have plants, or a garden? let's talk nature.

I tried to grow Venus Fly Traps once and that did not go well. Also encountered the fungus gnats. I just got rid of the whole situation.

bought what's commonly referred to as hens and chickens today. my mom used to have them in her yard and they were pretty sturdy. i like things i can't kill as long as they don't sass me

Good luck with them Gavin! Hens and Chickens are soo pretty. However I can't grow anything to save my life. I wasn't graced with a green thumb.

I tried to grow cilantro. This thread just now reminded me that I had tried. I can't grow ANYTHING.
I'm giving it another shot with a tiny daisy pot. Hope I dont forget this time haha

an update on the plant sitch: two african violets. a venus fly trap. a cactus. an aloe plant. a snake plant. a jade plant. bamboo. some red thing. some green thing with purple fuzz. i had to cut back the purple fuzz thing and start over after it got too big for its britches and then died. it has one little sprout. one of my violets is dying, i guess, and the other looks amazing. the aloe is getting massive. the fly trap is hanging in there.
i tried chamomile. it failed. i want to try again.
