I just finished this book by Jodi Picoult and it was amazing. All of the characters were really honest and real. I could understand where each character was coming from. I was disappointed in the movie thought. I though they butchered the book. Has anyone else read this?

It's a great book, I read it a while ago. The movie was good but I decided to treat it as unrelated to the book because I knew they would change it... which worked, because they did really change it, and it was a good movie on its own.

I read it a couple months ago. I never really planned to but I was at Goodwill and it was 50 cents! Brand new! So I figured..why not? After I was done I bawled my little eyes out. The ending was just you know, . Like Megan said, the characters were so understandable. I felt myself panicking right along with them. Kinda like when you get into something on TV or a movie and you talk or yell at people even when you full well know it doesn't do anything... Well, I do that. Then I saw the movie and bawled some more. Though, I have to say, the lack of Campbell-Julia action disappointed me. They changed a good deal of it but I think it was powerful all the same.

Julia was not even in the movie! I was so offended. I spent most of my time reading that book being mad at the mother!
One of my favorite quotes is from this book when Jessie is talking about digging the whole to china. He so small and he thinks he's dug so far but when he looks he's only dug a few feet down. He says "Darkness, you know, is relative." It really struck me as being a truth. I'd never thought of it that way.

So did I! I kinda hated her...it seemed like she was the most selfish character. Almost and she really did think that Anna was most important for spare parts.
